WDAS monthly meetings ended for the season on 5 May and will resume after the summer recess.
At the May meeting, after our usual review of the night sky, society news and upcoming plans, we covered the summer’s main celestial highlights. Mark also gave a brief preview of his planned presentation on observing equipment; because time was short, he will return to it in more detail when meetings resume in the autumn.

We meet at Whitby School, Prospect Hill Site, in Room H1 of the main block, from 7:30 pm. Meetings are normally held on the first Tuesday of each month from October to May, although January and April may vary because of school holidays.
If you are new to the area or have recently developed an interest in the night sky and would like to join the society, please get in touch — you will be very welcome.
