Our second visit to the Danby Moors visitor centre is now scheduled for Saturday February 20th.
Following the successful ‘alternative Halloween’ star event last October, the society was invited to aid the North York’s Moors National Park by nominating the Danby Centre site for class 2 Dark Sky status. If successful, we look forward to much future collaboration with NYMA. The upcoming event will run from 6-8pm.
If conditions are suitable, (not knee deep in snow) we shall be using the scopes, but an indoor presentation will also be given. The complexity and duration of this will depend on the weather. The event is going to be bookable so numbers could be around 20-40, possibly more. We shall discuss the event at the Feb meeting, but if you can help out in some capacity it would be appreciated.
