Viable star parties will be challenging this summer - think of it as an observing fallow period. We shall endeavour to host events when darker evenings, weather, celestial objects and timetables allow, but observations will be extremely limited with even suitable Moon phases out of synch for possible dates.
There are unlikely to be any scheduled events in June (May was similar), so its looking as though late July will be the earliest before any can be hosted. It will be well into August before we can even observe a planet (Saturn) in the evening sky, although at least by then nights will be darkening again. The society will be supporting Whitby Regatta as usual in August - further details nearer the time, and Hook's House in early September, but mostly we'll be kicking our heels!
If you are new to the area and would like to join the society or have become interested in the night sky and want to take 'one small step', please do come along, you will be very welcome.
